The Bishop's office just announced that they will be having a tour to New Mexico after the U.S. Soto Conference at Las Vegas, which is on Saturday, October 26, 2019.

The Conference Theme is "American Buddhism" and will be inviting Dr./Rev. Duncan William as the guest speaker.

The U.S. Soto Conference is a conference between the Hawaii Temples and the Mainland Soto Temples. This is the 9th and the Mainland Soto Temple will be the host this year. We hosted the 8th U.S. Soto Conference in 2012 at Ala Moana Hotel.

After the conference, the Bishop's Office will be going on a tour, visiting the different Native American sites in New Mexico and Zen Centers. This tour will be very educational and fun. Especially visiting the Zen Centers, there will be things that you will be able to only experience because you are going with Bishop Komagata.

Please take this opportunity if you are interested. We will probably never have this opportunity again!

Conference attendance fee: $130 (includes Lunch, Dinner and Meeting)

Tour fee to New Mexico is $700 (please see attachment for detail)

Even if you don't plan to go to the conference, this will be a great opportunity for you to learn more about the Zen Centers (Bodhi Manda Zen Center and Upaya Zen Center) that thrives in the continental U.S. They will also be visiting old sites of Japanese American Internment Camp that our Hawaii Ministers and Members were once internmed and much much more.

Deadline for registration is April 14. Please call the temple or mail your registration form along with the deposit to Soto Mission of Hawaii.

If you have any questions, please contact the Bishop's Office at 538-6429.
